Keepin' on keepin' on
I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday. I apologize for all the site downtime, in case you've tried to check in over the last few days. It's way out of my hands, of course, but I feel bad nonetheless.
Tomorrow I'll post Part II of my very early preview of the division by looking at the Cubs, the Pirates and the Reds (read Part I here, which focused on the Astros and Cardinals). If you didn't read my seat-of-the-pants win projection last week, you might want to check that out, too.
Also, a few of us SB Nation bloggers are talking about a NL Central roundtable, perhaps in January, so keep an eye out for that!

I'm just going to have to ...
My overriding concern with the Brewers is OBP, which everyone I seem to think is overlooking. That's what my Lyle such a wanted commodity, and I think that's going to hurt the Crew a little this year. Basically it boils down to a lack of a "prototypical" #3 hitter.
Really, I don't think any player right now on the team outside of Brady (kind of) with a stellar OBP. Jenkins is OK when he's on, and Hardy might be alright, but I don't consider either a #3 hitter. Eliminating a guy with a knack for getting on base may hurt the team somewhat, that's the only concern I have this season.
I didn't put much thought into the argument, not a whole lot going on today. I'm hesitant about assuming vast improvements in Weeks/Hardy/Fielder, maybe that's my only problem. That, and John Jaha.
