Best moments of 2005

What were the best moments in Brewers baseball in 2005?  Here are a few ideas off the top of my head:

  • Mark Attanasio making the Brewers a credible organization again
  • Prince Fielder's debut
  • The Tomo Ohka / Junior Spivey trade (not exactly "exciting," but it'll keep paying dividends)
  • J.J. Hardy's second half
  • Win #81!
I'm sure there are many more...what are yours?

Oh, and by the way...Happy New Year!

My vote
Well, there's also Jenkins's amazing second half.

My vote would go to the Spivey/Ohka trade, though not necessarily because it brought us Ohka.  (Though certainly Okha's nice to have around, especially when relievers are getting outrageous money.)

If the Brewers' fortunes rise as we're all hoping/expecting them to, it would likely be due to Rickie's bat.  If that's the case, Brewers fans would look back to this trade as the one that got Rickie in the lineup and started the franchise back up the path toward contention.

You make a good point
I somehow forgot that if Spivey had stayed around, he would've started...a lot.  I guess when he became a utility guy for Washington I got it in my head that that's the role he would've played for us, which is completely not true.

Fielder / Weeks
The game, I think it was against the Twins where Fielder and Weeks both hit HR's to boost the crew to a win - that would have to be my favorite moment.

My second favorite moment is the walk-off balk by Mike Stanton.

At least the Brewers hats are always on clearance
