Around SBN: The Ten Worst Swings Of The 2011 Season

A complete prospect list!

Baseball Digest Daily has published a list of their top 100 prospects in baseball. Here's the top 50, and here's 51-100. Yovani Gallardo and Ryan Braun check in at #20 and #26, while Will Inman is at #63 and Mark Rogers (ranked before the most recent injury development) is at #75.

Four prospects in the top 75 is pretty good, I'd say. If every system were equal, each team would have 2.5 guys in that group: say, two full-sized prospects and Dustin Pedroia. As it is, I'd say we're ahead of the pack. Best of all, two of those guys have established themselves at Double-A, so it's not like we're pinning our hope on Jeremy Jeffress or Cole Gillespie.

Two in the top 26, where a handful of teams have none.

Another list
Top Prospect Alert released their list awhile ago.

Gallardo is #17, Braun is #23, Rogers is #57 (again, pre-surgery) & Inman is #82.

They also did a Top 10 list for the Brewers, which goes:

  1. Gallardo
  2. Braun
  3. Rogers
  4. Inman
  5. Jeffress
  6. Lorenzo Cain
  7. Gillespie
  8. Chris Errecart
  9. Mat Gamel
  10. Alcides Escobar
Their list is disturbingly similar to Kevin Goldstein's, with Escobar replacing Iribarren as the Angel Salome-displacing middle infielder.
