Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

This weekend, Part 2

I know it's been said before....  but

This weekend series is the most important one of the Brewers season.

They are 4.5 back of Cincinnati with the Reds coming to town this weekend.  If we could sweep them at home, we'd probably be a game or so out of the Wild Card at the deadline.

If we lose all 3, or even the first two, I expect Lee to be traded ASAP.

Of course, first we have to keep opening up a can on the Pirates in order for the Reds games to be meaningful, but I'm excited.  Gonna be in Milwaukee this weekend, maybe I'll get out to the ballpark on Saturday night.

the most important series of the Brewers' season was the just completed road trip. They needed to come gangbusters out of the all-star break gates and erase the three games before the break and the disastrous 8 game skid to end may and start June.

After the SF series I was ready to write them off, but the optimist in me gave them last weekend's series to atone.

And they failed. So now I've really written them off. I'm going to watch tonight cause Sheets is pitching, but I don't expect I'll pay nearly as much attention over the balance.

Also, look for Lee to remain a Brewer, as I've said before, you just can't get anything useful for an above average rental outfielder.

I wonder
I think they SHOULD trade Lee, though with Melvin and Yost and that g-d unfounded optimism, I can see them keeping him hoping that this is "the year," all evidence to the contrary.

What I'd love to see is us trade Carlos and make a run anyway.  And Corey Hart shall lead them!
