Troy Percival?

MLB Trade Rumors (via Buster Olney) is reporting that the Brewers are one of multiple teams interested in Troy Percival.

Interesting gamble, Percival retired after injury problems in 2005, but came back this year and pitched phenomenally (1.80 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, 3.6 K/BB).  Assuming we don't resign Cordero, which is a looming probability, finding a bargain in the available closers is our only option.  Percival probably won't be cheap, but because of the risk involved it could either be a relative steal or a major bust.  What do you guys think?

I'd rather have Percival than
rely on T-bow and Mota.
Ryan Braun is the Ed Hochuli of Third Basemen. Prince is now Chubber Lang

Mota
Just needed a change of scenery. I think he'll be good for us...

Someone will respond with stats from the past or projections for the future that say otherwise, but that doesn't tell us what he will really do. And don't forget what Maddux has done with a lot of other so-called "crappy pitchers" over the years.

Mota might improve
but he can't be our closer, he's a setup man at best.  Assuming Cordero leaves, we'll either have to acquire another closer or hope Turnbow becomes effective again.

I'm with you...
No closing role.

And I don't think Turnbow will ever be effective again... Unless we send him to AAA for a while... A la Weeks and Villanueva.
