Don't we need a decision point on the players veteran status?? I don't recall Nedly praising any grizzled, gritty youngsters.

but gritty? Probably. Rottino will be gritty if he makes the team ... I'll bet Tony Gwynn is gritty, though the term seems to be applied most frequently to white players.

I think David Eckstein has been gritty since little league.
