Bud Selig is Rich
In 2005, Commissioner Bud was paid almost fifteen million bucks. No wonder he shed that "interim" tag.
I suppose this would be the appropriate time to take potshots at Selig; as a Brewers fan, he's hardly my favorite man in baseball. But given how baseball has grown in the last few years (I'm speaking economically here), he may just deserve that much.
If nothing else, I'd say Selig does at least 50% more for the game of baseball than Jeff Suppan does, and way more than twice as much as Jason Marquis. (Sorry: if I'm going to skip the Selig potshot, I have to take a swipe at somebody. Marquis is always at the ready for situations like this.)

Owners' Man
My ill will stems from being a baseball consumer and American taxpayer, two groups that Selig likes to screw over to benefit said owners. So, it's not that I dislike the man as a person, it's that I'd prefer he wasn't so effective in getting free money and stadiums for his employers :)

As A Brewer Fan
huh
On top of that, he is the single biggest reason for Miller Park, which Brewers fans love and which has gotten an ever-improving national reputation in terms of fan experience in recent years.
Then, there's the altered economic landscape of the game that has created some revenue sharing, essential for a team like the Brewers.
Next, there's MLB.com, the first and best website of its kind for a professional sport. Because of its existence, Jeff and others who don't live in Wisconsin (which used to include me) can watch these games at will.
Sure the guy isn't a compelling public face from a PR standpoint and he let the Brewers rot for too long under his daughter, but he also is responsible for selling the team to Attanasio, of whom no one has uttered a negative word.
Give Bud his due. Baseball fans--especially Brewers fans--owe him a debt of gratitude.

Come off it he ain't Jeebus
The history is full of examples so I won't repeat it here, and I don't think Jeff intended this to be a debate thread - but Selig and his band of greedy owners have taken a lot more from baseball and its supporting communities than have given to it.
