Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

Game Thread X: Revenge Date

Former Brewer JDLR for the Royals, Jeff Suppan for the Crew.

Hopefully Jorge pitches the way he has been lately, and hopefully Suppan Doesn't.

Hardy is out of the lineup again, presumably with his sore hip/knee, and for some reason Counsell is in the lineup instead of Graffy; anyone know whats up with that?

by sheeter on Jun 22, 2007 7:22 PM CDT reply actions

by sheeter on Jun 22, 2007 7:31 PM CDT reply actions

I know that Weeks
hasn't been very good/healthy this year, but wouldn't you rather have him in the two hole than Counsell right now?

I like it when
the other team makes mistakes

That's it

by molitorfan on Jun 22, 2007 9:01 PM CDT reply actions

6 runs should be enough to beat the Royals twice.

i just don't get it.
really.  it's not even a cliche anymore. he honestly should be fired.

Seriously Suppan
you better start pitching better on the second-half off the season.

by Aschen on Jun 22, 2007 9:07 PM CDT reply actions

it's not his fault, tho...
i really dont think he should have been in there.  he was losing his control.  he was done...  i want him to pitch better; but i can't hang this on soup.

by Jamie in LA on Jun 22, 2007 9:12 PM CDT reply actions

Not be negative,
but this was the 5th inning.  Come on, he's a vetern and needs to give more than that. Sometimes you have dig deep and get another inning or two.  His ERA was 9.56 in the last 3 games.

these Royals must be painful to watch on a daily basis.

by molitorfan on Jun 22, 2007 9:30 PM CDT reply actions

Ahh, those royals
They remind me so much of the brewer teams of several years ago

by sheeter on Jun 22, 2007 9:30 PM CDT reply actions

Say, where did the Game Thread go?
Sorry about that --- it took me a bit to figure out how to bump it to the front page.

Hey, that Corey Hart could be good someday.

by roguejim on Jun 22, 2007 9:52 PM CDT reply actions

Maybe
we should play Hart every day.  Sad it took a Weeks injury for the hamster in Ned's head to start jogging.

I think I hear
Spurling's music to start the 9th.

Jeez
I leave for a few minutes and this game gets out of hand.

I'm guessing Hart did something?

by sheeter on Jun 22, 2007 10:04 PM CDT reply actions

Good guess
3 run home run.

Or it was second and third, and he walked, and he just kept going.

Good times
If the Red Sox beat the Padres tonight we will be tied with the Dodgers for best record in the NL. Hart and Braun are 2 of the 3 Top Performers for the night on ESPN's scoreboard page.

if Prince would have scored
we would have cracked open a pounder of Spurling.

by molitorfan on Jun 22, 2007 10:21 PM CDT up reply actions

Nice job
Counsell bobbles it, throws it to Prince, and he bobbles it.  It's a shame we can only call one error on the play.

Nice redemption play by Craig, tho.

not many hard hit balls
but wiser is doing his best spurling impression

by sheeter on Jun 22, 2007 10:24 PM CDT reply actions

The 9th
This is unnecessary.  The game has gone on long enough.  BTW, what's wrong with having Turnbow pitch another inning?

by nmc on Jun 22, 2007 10:24 PM CDT reply actions

Cards lost, Cubs won
we now have an 8 game lead.

and
we are tied for the best record in the NL and have the best home record in the NL.  Damn it feels good to be a gangsta.

Magic # is...
now 83

We have a 8.5 game lead over both the Scrubs and the Cards.  We are 11 games over .500.

I'm going to start something that I'm going to do every game.  It will be Hyatt's Most Valuable and Least Valuable Brewers of the game.  I will be doing players and coaches for this.  So, with that said...

MVB- I'm going to split the award between Ryan Braun (my man crush), and Corey Hart.  Braun went 4-4 with 3 RBIs, and with improving defense, will become the most complete player on this team.  Hart just loves to lead off, going 3 for 4 with 4 RBIs

LVB-  Yost gets this one for leaving Suppan in during that wonderful headache that was the 5th inning.  Granted he got out of it, but still, it was obvious that he couldn't get the job done tonight, so why subject us to that kind of pain.  Suppan deserves a share as well for sucking.  He's given up less than 4 runs in just 1 of his last 9 starts.  Once again shows that the process for handing out wins and losses is silly and just must be stopped.

That's not the Chirizo, It's Enrico Polazzo!

by hyattff2003 on Jun 23, 2007 10:49 AM CDT reply actions

LVB
Personally, I would have liked to see the anger and bewilderment over someone like Spurling or Capellan coming into the game than Suppan going out there another inning.

DLR
3 losses in six days for Jorge De La Rosa. Talk about a tough week.
