Home Run Derby
Baseball Tonight just reported that Prince will be in the Derby and Howard will be back to defend his crown even though he isn't an all star.
I wish Prince would sit this one out and not mess with his swing.
The Fox crew was talking about it Saturday during the Mets vs. Phils game, which us east coast saps got instead of Cubs vs. Brewers. They said Wright is sitting out this year because he felt it really hurt him in the second half and his HR total suffered. However, Howard obviously had a great second half after winning the derby.
Thoughts?

Bobby Abreu
I'm not worried
Not that it's necessarily related, but anybody remember if Cecil ever participated, and if so, how he did?
Too Easy :-D
Cecil Fielder:
1993, Baltimore - 5th overall with 4 homers
1991, Toronto - 3rd overall with 4 homers (same year noted power threat Chris Sabo hit 0)
Perhaps the most bizarre:
1990, Chicago (Wrigley) - the wind must have been blowing in because the eight players combined for 5 home runs. Cecil had none.
Interesting
I had no idea all of that was available ... thanks!

More Sabo
Ah yes...protecting the boys.
I'm going to go ahead and
Rancho Cucamonga
RC
Whenever anybody asks me what the hell it is, I say "Rancho Cucamonga" and it always gets a laugh. Silly New Yorkers.

do it prince
However, it may get boring when all the homers land in the water and nobody in the crowd knows how far they actually went.
Prince has three things going for him that will help him become a household name.
- The first name of Prince.
- His lineage.
- His weight, everybody loves the loveable fat guy. i.e. John Daley

I guess we'll find out
apropos of not much
(At least I think it was Turnbow...)
Prince
Besides, as Jeff said, Prince won't be altering his swing significantly. David Wright, however, probably did.

i have on occasion
Has anyone noticed that Carlos always seems to find his way to get to losing teams? After the White Sox traded him, they won the WS. Now we're having a good year. Meanwhile, his Astros are basically last year's Brewers: Carlos hitting with occasional help from somebody else, inconsistent pitching, losing record.
