Crappy

I want to open a thread regarding everyone's thoughts on switching the roles of Capuano and Parra.  I believe Keith Law on espn.com suggested that the Brewers would be in much better shape if they made this move.  My opinion is that we need to do something about the rotation, whether it is to insert Villy or Parra.  The Crew is 0-13 over Crappy's last 13 starts so moving him to the pen would be a great place to start.
The only current member of the rotation that I have any confidence in right now is Gallardo**.

**Note- If I jinxed Yovani tonight with this last sentence I will put myself on the 15 day diary DL list.

Not good enough
If you jinxed Yovanni, Ned Yost and Prince Fielder will inflict upon you the same mysterious ailment that sidelined Elmer Dessens for the past few months.  One minute you're feeling fine, then WHOPPO, it's 8 weeks before you even start rehab.

If the Brewers don't start playing better....
I may actually need rehab.  Maybe I can carpool with Lindsay Lohan.

just make sure that
YOU do the driving.
Weird, but not weird.

I'm ambivalent
First off, Cappy hasn't really been worse than Vargas or Suppan lately.  That isn't an endorsement, but that's how it is.  Given Cappy's track record vs. Vargas's track record, if you're going to put Parra in the rotation, I'd rather sub him in for Vargas.

Second, I heart Parra thanks to his relief appearance the other day, but I'm not at all convinced he'd do better than whoever he replaces.  It may be worth trying, but Parra isn't going to be the savior the same way that Gallardo has been.

If I'm wrong, though, I'll be happy :).

Weird, but not weird.

Parra
But...the Brewers are only 1-3 in games he's pitched in, so how would that help make things better? :)

Me too
Especially now after it reflects Koyie Hill's 0 for 5 day in the Cubs game yesterday that B-R.com, for whatever reason, doesn't have in their gamelogs yet.

Cappy
Cappy has been pitching better lately, but he's suffering the reverse Vargas effect. Vargas can pitch badly, but the Brewers usually score so many runs that he gets a win. Cappy can pitch well, but either the pen will give it up or the hitters won't hit well.

Also, David Wright finally got a hit for the Mets.

New Cubs MVP
is Marlon Anderson.  After inexplicably having a good series against the Crew he is 0-3 with 2 K's and 5 left on base.  They are walking Delgado every time to pitch to him because Big Willy Style has Anderson hitting 5th!
Good news- Castro just hit a solo shot off Big Z.

Big Z
Just left with an injury. Anyone know what happened?

by DC Brewer on Aug 3, 2007 2:54 PM CDT up reply actions

What I heard
Was that he asked to be removed. No explanation why.

by drezdn on Aug 3, 2007 2:58 PM CDT up reply actions

I am watching the Mets feed
and they were all surprised.  He left with a 1-1 count right after he gave up the HR.  Before the HR he had 1 hit and 7 walks in 5 innings.
Crap, Lee just tied it up with a solo HR.

I'll bet he cracked under the pressure
he knows how motivating dugout combat can be, so he realizes the Brewers have a fire under their collective ass now.

I'd ask to be pulled too, in his situation :).

Weird, but not weird.

Actually with Big Z
I was performing my voodoo on him and it actually worked. Next i will be performing tommy john surgery on my little voodoo big Z.  I can't remember, do you take a tendon from somewhere else to repair his elbow?

Yes, I performed my voodoo, but im not a barbarian, I want his surgery to at least me successful.

Ned for Prez!! Seriously, he needs a new job.

Nice
Great outing for Yovani and glad to see I didn't jinx him.  He is still the only starter I have confidence in until Parra joins the rotation.  I have a bad feeling about tonight's pitching matchup.  Hammels dominated us last time and has been pitching great, and I see Bush giving up 2-3 HR's.  If we can take this one tonight I will be impressed.

Sigh

Great win!
Bush gave up his HR's (shocker) but the Crew battled back.  Great weekend so far...

You know
It really seems like the spat between Estrada, Graffanino, and Yost really provided a spark for this team.  If they win the division, it will probably be because of it.

:)

not least of which...
they've scored twice as many runs as the opposition during that stretch!
