Michael Hunt up to his old tricks

Rob Neyer calls out Michael Hunt today for publishing some blatantly incorrect facts as well as other merely misleading facts.

http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?name=neyer_rob

But more importantly, he claims there may be hope for Brewers pitching.  It's sort of refreshing to tune in to a national media member who doesn't blatantly talk about not wanting the Brewers to get into the playoffs because Chicago "just seems so alive when the Cubs are doing well."  I have to go puke...

I don't have insider
But the blurb I can see is enough to make me scoff. Maybe in Michael Hunt's world 6 actually does equal 7 and that's why he's so inept? But anyway, I don't know what Neyer said, but what's the big deal with that? The Brewers actually have more guys with 20+ starts than the Cubs do, but it's not like that means anything.

Basic points
Brewers have used 8 starters but six of them account for all but 2 games (until tonight of course) with Parra getting one and Villanueva getting one.

Also, between the Cubs' and Brewers' starting fives for September, the Cubs have an edge in ERA, but the Brewers have a slight edge in HR rate, a significant edge in BB rate, and are approx. equal in K rate, meaning other differences may (at least partially) be chalked up to bad luck for Brewers pitching.

Oh and...
The Brewers' stats underrate them a bit because Sheets is underrepresented in those rates.

Mike Hunt
Any person handed the name "Mike Hunt" by his parents is bound to have issues in life.

Neyer.
Neyer's alright.  I took a class that he was a moderator for, and he's kind of a Brewers fan, was always very happy to rap with me about the Crew.  Will Carroll is a fan, too.  At least we have those guys.  The rest can suck it.

Ode to spring.

I like the snow as much as anybody who likes snow. I even don't dread shoveling. Still, I find myself anxious for spring.

Why?

I can't wait to play hookey from work or school and make it to a game at Miller Park. I want to have the money I save now go to a goal other than just tuition and bills. I want to sit behind home plate and watch Brauny hit a monstrous homer.

And that, my friends, is all I want for Christmas - spring.
