The remaining games prediction

Back on July 30th,using home and road records of all teams involved I made a prediction right here on this site that the Brewers would come in 2nd place by 1 tenth of a game.

Cubs 85.6
Brewers 85.5 victories

Using the same formula I did the same thing this morning and the Cubs are pulling away

Cubs 83.8
Brewers 83.2

So - obviously EVER game that we don't give away is huge and it's going to be a long long 17 days coming up.

The Crew need to win 6 of the 10 home games and 3 of the 7 road games.  Anything more and it's all up to the Cubs.

I have to think that the Crew can win 4 of the 7 roadies so that the pressure is off the home games  .

Anyway you look at it. pass the Valium!

Brewers face tougher pitchers
than the cubs.  The brewers will face Smoltz, Oswalt, Hudson, Maddux, Peavy, and Chris Young.  All thats missing is Brandon Webb, and you have the best pitchers in the league.  While the Cubs will face Harang and Dontrelle Willis.

The Brewers have a much harder hill to climb, but anything can happen.

Then again
With no stats to back it up, the Brewers do seem to hold their own against the good pitchers. It's the bad pitchers we have trouble with.

exactly
as i've said before the play up to there competition. But sure does make those games they blew against lesser pitching staffs harder to swallow. those were the games that they should have won and this last two weeks would have been a little easier to deal with.

but that's ancient history.

I would flippantly argue
With the Brewers going up against good pitchers and the Cubs facing average-to-marginal pitchers, the offenses should be about equal, no? :)
