night and day

Every one has made a big deal about our home-road split, but our night vs. day split is also pretty stark:

 49-27 home, 32-49 road
 59-45 night, 22-31 day

Do any of our stat guys no whether these are separate trends, or whether it's just that our home games are disproportionately night games?  I remember that it was our pitching that was the big difference between home and road (at least earlier in the season).  Does anyone know whether this is the same with the night-day split?

The only stat I can drop related to this
Is that as of yesterday, Cards pitcher Looper had an ERA under 2 during day games, and an ERA of 6+ in night games.

After looking at this, I'm kind of annoyed then that the game on the 29th is going to start early.

I would offer that the day games
seem to include Neddly Meddly's famous get away day/Sunday lineups.  I would just say that there's typically less talent on the field for day games.  You know, something like Counsell, Dillon, Gross batting 1,2,3.
If A-Rod hits A-Bombs, does Fielder hit F-Bombs? It's dumb I know....

Good point
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"

Use of Bench
Granted that no one (except the Counsell family....maybe) would pay money to see COunsell over Braun but how do you use your bench?  Should each one of our infielders play 155 games next year assuming they are healthy?  How do you work an outfield rotation that lacks a standout like Braun or Fielder (although Hart is close)?

i agree
day games do seem to be when he uses experimental(read:bad) lineups

Ode to spring.

I like the snow as much as anybody who likes snow. I even don't dread shoveling. Still, I find myself anxious for spring.

Why?

I can't wait to play hookey from work or school and make it to a game at Miller Park. I want to have the money I save now go to a goal other than just tuition and bills. I want to sit behind home plate and watch Brauny hit a monstrous homer.

And that, my friends, is all I want for Christmas - spring.
