Baby Names

I am looking for a few suggestions from my fellow fanatics. I thought about whether this was the right place to look for ideas, but after checking out all the websites and books with my SO we decided to give it a shot.  I love this site and thought why not?!?!  Still a couple weeks away from pitchers and catchers and would give us something to talk about. Right now we have come up with James Joseph (J.J. obviously), and we haven't settled on a girls name yet.  I know this isn't a normal diary contribution but just looking for some ideas.  BTW Moose and Tiny didn't fly.  Thanks.

Joe

Euphonious if it's a girl?
If you wanted a team-related girl's name you could do Ricki(e) or Gabrielle or Cori/Cory/Kori/... (how about Princess?). Otherwise you could do what my parents' did for my sister (Brynne) and name her after ex-pitcher Bryn Smith. My sister's kind of weird, though, so maybe that's not a good idea. :)

Euphonious would be preferable,
but I am leaning toward Agnes :), and yes I am hoping for team related.  I am sure she will be called Princess a few times regardless.

Bryn Smith
Ben Sheets is the next Bryn Smith (1988), or Dave Bush, or Jeff Suppan.......ouch.

Robin
it could work for a girl or a guy.
YoGanna win with Gallardo on the mound.

If it's a guy
be bold, name him "The Ignitor"

Coincidentally
I was the one to get baseballreference.com to put The Ignitor as Paulie's nickname.  Hooray me!

Ignitor!!!!
I will put that on the back of HIS little league jersey!

Clearly
If it's a girl: Wendy
If it's a boy: Bud

If it's a girl and you name her Morganna, we can probably pass the hat around for the therapy you'll need a few years down the line.

HAAAAAAAAA
best suggestions; hands down!

Morgan
is still on the table actually (that's our first pick, and def not for Joe Morgan).  The only person that's not incarcerated in that picture is probably the guy with the sweet pack.

by SwampBuck on Jan 31, 2008 12:14 AM CST reply actions   0 recs

Hmmm
I suspect it's not a fanny pack if you wear it in the front.

You could go with something that is neither masculine nor feminine, like "Yost" or "Moustache" or "The Giant Head."  (Let's hope that last one's not the case during the delivery.)

Jinxie would be a good girl's name.

It looks so geologic.

It's funny that you brought up this topic.....
There was a Damian Miller bobblehead day a while back.  (Must be 1.5 years ago?)  We had put together about a 50 person tailgate party for that day.  We're talkin' full tailgate action: Multiple grills, multiple half barrels, and the siren song of a Brewer bobblehead.....good times.

....anyway....

Long story short, a couple in our party were feeling frisky and snuck out to their car around the 2nd inning.  Our group notched our only recorderd occurance of a conception at a game that day.  We lobbied to have the child's middle name be Miller (Damien, Stadium, & Beer) but mom was not interested in our douchebaggery.  I think they settled on Marcus.  Seriously, I understand not wanting to name the child Damien, but Miller isn't a bad name, right?

If A-Rod hits A-Bombs, does Fielder hit F-Bombs? It's dumb I know....

That's weird
I was at the same game, and arrived late, right around the second inning.  On my way in, I could have SWORN I saw Marcus Hanel, the Brewers bullpen catcher, in the parking lot talking to some drunken chick.

What a funny coincidence.

I prefer your scenario,
because it would mean that despite the mother's best efforts she still came up with a Brewer name.  Nice....I hadn't even thought of that.

....I need to make some calls.

I guess that means
the catcher can also be the pitcher.

AP
Awesome story, I think we both would be fine with Miller, the middle name would be a no brainer.....

If its a boy COOPER!
If its a girl, just not Wendy.
