What to wear during the winter

So it's getting colder outside, and the days are getting shorter. Plus, the Brewers don't play again until spring training games start in March. So what does one wear for the next few months, while we wait for pitchers and catchers to report?

Well, you can't wear your Peoria Javelinas gear, because the MLB.com AFL shop only has a hat for one team, and it's not yours.

Thankfully, Hawaii Winter Baseball comes through. Check out the logo for the West Oahu Canefires: Hcanefires_medium

via shop.hawaiiwinterbaseball.com

Now there's a hat I would wear. And since I've been bartending Frosty Mugs all season, consider this your subtle hint for a tip. :-) I have no idea what size I'd need, so I figure an XL seems safe. My head's gotten a little bigger since I made Sports Illustrated.

The Albuquerque Isotopes!

The model upon which the Springfield Isotopes are based. It’s the Dodgers AAA team.

They're the Marlins' AAA team

The Dodgers team wears these caps:

It's funny you mentioned that

A Google search said they were with the Fish, but everywhere else said the Dodgers, including the team’s home page. Stupid Intertubes!

It recently changed

The Dodgers were in Albuquerque for a while, then left and the Marlins took over, now they’re back, as of this offseason. So the 2008 Isotopes were a Marlins affiliate, but the 2009 Isotopes will be the Dodgers.

I don't specifically articulate my motives, because that wouldn't travel as well as a boo does.

from the wiki article

“The Isotopes’ mascot is Orbit, a big fuzzy electron.”

yet no picture? by “fuzzy electron” do they mean s-orbital shell – as in whole hydrogen atom? I would be quite interested in a picture of ol’ Orbit.

Ode to spring.

I like the snow as much as anybody who likes snow. I even don't dread shoveling. Still, I find myself anxious for spring.

Why?

I can't wait to play hookey from work or school and make it to a game at Miller Park. I want to have the money I save now go to a goal other than just tuition and bills. I want to sit behind home plate and watch Brauny hit a monstrous homer.

And that, my friends, is all I want for Christmas - spring.
