Cole Hamels will try to continue his masterful postseason by shutting down the Dodgers one more time. Against him is Chad Billingsley, another fantastic young pitcher, but a guy who couldn't stop the Phils offense in Game 2.

I'm just hoping that...

we can officially declare after this game that we indeed did better than the cubs in the playoffs.
if they lost to the dodgers (0-3) who lost to phillies (4-1) who beat us (3-1), one can argue that we’re better than both the dodgers and cubs, being second-best in the NL. Whereas the cubs are the worst playoff team of the entire league and perhaps after the world series, in MLB.

run differential

thusfar the brewers had 1.5 runs per game less than the phillies.
dodgers are so far at 0.6runs per game less than the phillies, but with the bases loaded that might change shortly.

You won’t hear any more whining about Piniella and how he foolishly let the Brewers win and matched his team against the hot Dodgers. Billingsley has been whooped on twice now after dealing against the Cubs.

cubs/dodgers 1-2 home record
brewers/phillies 3-1
phillies dodgers 3-1 (soon to be 3-2)

The off hand comment about the booing doesn’t bother me, and I am speaking only for myself, but DeWitt not only hasn’t been hitting, he’s been GIDP, right in the middle of a rally. Just hit the friggin’ ball out of the infield.

As a side note, the thing that catches my eye in that iPhone ad with Braun’s grand slam is before that where it shows Hart 0-4

I like Blake DeWitt a lot, but he has no business being in MLB quite yet. It was just his misfortune to be the guy on the end of the depth chart during ST when everyone with 3B-playing abilities was either hurt or the starting catcher for the big club. And then they go and trade their LaRoche brother for Manny…poor kid.
