World Series Game 1 Open Thread
The Brewers fan in me is rooting for the Rays, since they are not only the team most similar to the Crew, but they're also the team with ex-Brewers in prominent (well, sort of prominent) roles. Gabe Gross managed to hang on to his roster spot by a thread.
But...it would be kind of cool if the Phillies won, both because the NL sucks so bad, and because they're the team that beat us. We could claim (however weakly) to have been the second best team in baseball...we just got a rough draw in the first round.
Matchup is Kazmir and Hamels, game time is 7 CT, and here's the BR Game Preview.
Go Gabe!

Come on Gabe
Hit some WS winning shot, inflating the value of my game worn jersey. Perhaps I could make a few bucks on it.

Boo Tampa Bay.
The Rays have minor ex-Brewers in prominent roles, but the Phillies have a prominent ex-Brewer in a minor role.
Geoff Jenkins hits a winning HR, calling it now!
Ryan Braun: He loves it.

Carl Crawford played for Tampa Bay way back in 2007 when they were called the Devil Rays.

I thought thats what he said.
Didn’t expect a mistake like that out of Joe.
Cole Hamels has the nasty change working again tonight.

My favorite
McCarver: There is no way he’s swinging here 3-0.
…
Buck: Swing and a miss, and its 3-1.
And neck size to baby eating ratio.

the company in charge of distributing Fox broadcasts. All I know is that instead of the world series there is currently some Little League movie on Starz family channel. Just makes you want to cry.

It would make it uphill. They’re talking about rain in Phillie and the possibility that Hamels pitches three games if there is a rain delay though.

Do you listen to Baseball Prospectus Radio? Joe Sheehan said that the Phillies will only win the starts of Mr Hamels. If he does pitch three gives the Phils a big boost I guess is my point. Man that sounded better in my head.
