Fall/Winter League Update for 10/29/2008
The Javelinas host Phoenix today at 2:35.
In Hawai'i: Caleb Gindl went 1-for-5 and drove in two runs, Logan Schafer went 2-for-4 with a walk, stole a base and scored twice and Chris Cody pitched five scoreless innings with two hits, two walks and four K's as the CaneFires scored six runs in the tenth inning to defeat North Shore, 8-2.
The CaneFires play at North Shore again tonight at 8.
In Venezuela:
- Alcides Escobar went 0-for-4 with a strikeout, but also drove in a run and scored a run for Lara.
- Brendan Katin went 0-for-4 for Zulia.
- Ozzie Chavez went 3-for-3 with a double, scored a run and was caught stealing for Este.
- On Monday, Brad Nelson went 1-for-5 with a solo HR for Cibao.

I’m pretty sure he left the Magellenas last game with a tight hamstring but is predicted to be back by their next. Another player left with the same problem and dehydration was mentioned in the discussion.
It seems like a couple years now that Gwynn has had hamstring problems. That seems odd to me.
