Brewers claimed third baseman Casey McGehee off waivers Wednesday from the Cubs.
Joe Dillon was designated for assignment.
This doesn't necessarily mean that Dillon won't be back, just that we knocked him off the 40-man. If he wants to come back and compete for a bench job, I'd imagine he'll be welcome.
McGehee, on the other hand...not sure I get it.

IIRC
The Cubs DID try McGehee at catcher in spring training…
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
What's his defensive reputation?
Interesting, I was expecting to find some good splits v lefties, but he’s really balanced.
I endorse Blengino.
Weird
I guess he’s another guy to throw into the mix at third base though I don’t know how he’d be an upgrade. The team never seemed too keen about putting Dillon there in the majors.

As if KLSnow doesn't track down winter league stats for enough players
McGehee is playing for Culiacan in the Mexican Pacific League.

I ran across a guy KL doesn't mention
Ronald Acuna. At least on this page it says he is a Brewers guy.
He played for Huntsville in 2006
It doesn’t look like he’s been playing in any MLB organization since then (career stats).

clearly
those last 14 days in the minors are indicative of how he’ll perform at the big league level next year.
Oh shut up
:)
He could be the next Jeff Cirillo!

Just noticed this
McGehee was born on the day of the first World Series win in Brewers history. Picking him up off waivers was a no-brainer.
