In Arizona: Brent Brewer got his first start at shortstop and went 0-for-3, and Lorenzo Cain entered the game as a pinch runner and stole a base but failed to score in the Javelinas' 5-3 loss to Surprise.
The Javelinas have lost six straight games, and will try to snap that streak in Scottsdale tonight at 8.
