Sabathia 6th Year Rumor
Newsday reports that the Crew may be considering adding a 6th year to their CC offer, according to a source "familiar" with the situation.

Under the brewers contract, however....
Sabathia would have to pitch the 6th year for free.

He who shall not be named reported that the modified offer would be 6 years for 110 million.
Which makes no sense to me. Why would Sabathia be more interested in a longer contract for less per season?
I have an unreasonable dislike of Bill Hall.

Possibilities
Opt-out clause or clauses, less deferred money
And neck size to baby eating ratio.

Although it doesn't make much sense to me either

Security.
Along with more total money. If, as Jihad said, there would be an opt-out clause for CC, than if he gets hurt or for some reason really starts sucking, he has more money in the bank for a longer period of time, and if he doesn’t get hurt and pitches well, he can opt out for another very, very big payday.
I just wish he would decide soon so we can either rejoice or move on to other options.

I don't think my brain works the right way to evaluate these offers.
Who looks at a guaranteed contract offer for 5 years and a 100 million (some deferred) and thinks, “I need a little more security than that.”
I have an unreasonable dislike of Bill Hall.

Maybe someone who's already lost a good deal of money
To shady investment types that prey on the recently rich, especially athletes. Even that’s a stretch because a) if you manage to lose $100M I wouldn’t be optimistic about the other $10M, b) if it’s happened once you’d think you would take steps to stop it from happening again, and c) I have no idea if Sabathia ever ran into that sort of thing. But I guess when every single person on the planet is your friend, you never know…

The Chicago Tribune
is reporting the same rumor.
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
