Wednesday's as-yet unnamed reads

Ok, let's start with the poll today. I've taken the field of nominees and narrowed it down to the following:

The Frosty Mug (my personal favorite)
The Morning Blizzard
The Morning Brew
The Snow Report

Vote below.

Now, back to reading. On the "things could always be worse" front, Hunter Pence of the Astros injured himself walking through a sliding glass door. Two thoughts on this:

A) Did he actually go THROUGH the door? Because if he did, that'd take some serious force.
B) If Ben Sheets had done it, would he miss all of 2008?

If you're looking for a good timekiller today, might I recommend this new toy from Baseball Reference, where you can look at hitters and their performance based on position in the lineup? Combine it with this tool and there's days of fun to be had.

Apparently John Sickels of MinorLeagueBall had a day to kill yesterday, which he took care of by answering every reader question. Brewer related questions involved Weeks, LaPorta, breakout prospects for 2008 and Parra.

If you thought Ryan Dempster's World Series prediction was unlikely, check out what Kevin Millar's saying about the Orioles.

On days when I'm frustrated by the progress of the Brewers, it's good to the remember the days leading up to Miller Park, when the Brewers were a hopeless team only trying to build something respectable for their first year in their new park. The Marlins are there now. Here's a post from the Sun-Sentinel blog debating the merits of signing Hanley Ramirez long-term.

Finally, the coolest artist rendering of a proposed stadium you'll see today. I don't know if it'd work in Milwaukee, but that's a cool park for Tampa.

Now help me name this thing!
