Game Thread: March 21 Brewers vs. Padres

It's Bush vs. Peavy in this game.

Star-divide

Rickie Weeks is out with a swollen hand, and J.J. Hardy is slowly turning into the machinist with a flu that has drained 10 pounds from him.

In the first
Bush gives up two of his obligatory first inning runnings, while Peavy gives up a three run home run to mid-season form Ryan Braun.

Crabbe
Batting leadoff and playing short for the Padres: a strikeout and a flyout so far.

Brewers Line Up
SS Craig Counsell
CF Mike Cameron
1B Prince Fielder
LF Ryan Braun
3B Bill Hall
RF Corey Hart
2B Abraham Nunez
RHP Dave Bush
C Jason Kendall

Please oh please don't be a sign that they're thinking of putting Nunez on the 25 man roster.

J.J. Hardy still has the flu
Hence Nunez's playing time.  JS blog makes JJ's flu sound pretty serious.

Strange but true
Jake Peavy's spring ERA is higher than Dave Bush's.

gameday says he's out now
In classic fashion he gives up a couple in the first and then digs in. I was really wondering if he was going to hang on in the sixth. Carlos V in instead.

Counsell
The really reason Weeks is out of the lineup. Yost is playing the hot hand in Counsell.

Hopefully it's not too hard to straighten out.

It would be easy to fix if I could get the dude's phone #.(I can't since nobody living in an apt has a land line)  So I'll have to jag around with the Brewers ticket reps to get this fixed.  I should demand an extra ticket or one of the Prince bobble heads.

Anywhere on the Brewers site
where they give radio coverage information. I can tell TV by looking at the 'schedule' link and you'd think that radio would be there as well, but no.

Thanks
finally got there myself. MLB should have it, but I suppose the big push for revenue through pay tv and audio makes that a no go.

Is anyone else starting to think that we got the raw end of the Linebrink trade?

I'll try this
Andrew Miller, if you read this blog, I have your tickets.

Best part of the game...
I sat behind The Honky Tonk Man. My friend and I got to talk with him for about four innings before he went up to the press box.

He's a nice guy who was supposed to throw out the first pitch before the game, but had a bruised right pec that prevented him from throwing. I don't think he could have done any worse than his last minute sub.

At 55, THTM is in great shape and still wrestles all over the world. This past weekend, he was in Milwaukee and Racine for Brew City Wrestling.

Since he lives in the Phoenix area, I may see him again on the golf course.

It's worth clicking on the You Tube link to see the words "Honkywood" and "Honkymania."  And hey, there's Ron Silver playing gee-tar!
