Holy crap! Capuano might actually be hurt

I didn't think Cappy's injury was expected to be that serious.  Turns out, that might not be the case:

Left-hander Chris Capuano has a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow, the Brewers announced Sunday.

The injury is serious enough that Capuano could miss significant time and could cause a second Tommy John surgery for Capuano, who had one in 2002.

Further bulletins as events warrant.

Update
Per the JS Blogs:

"Capuano will seek a third opinion from Dr. James Andrews, before deciding on Tommy John surgery or an attempt at rehabilitation. But the fact that the ligament is torn pretty much rules out the rehab route and makes surgery about definite."

Probably out for the year. That's a major bummer. Good thing none of that depth was traded, because you just never know what's going to happen.

People are idiots (vent)
Comments after the JS Online blog post are absolutely terrible. People saying that it's good he got injured... first, injuries are never "good", especially something this serious. It could threaten the guy's career, and they're saying it's good? Having a starting pitcher versus not having a starting pitcher- which one would you choose? He wasn't good last year, but it isn't like he couldn't have had a decent year had the injury not been so serious.

Hopefully he has the surgery and gets it fixed and tries to come back next season (is he under Brewer control?). And fortunately, the Brewers have the depth to be able to do so.

Sometimes I do for entertainment value
This time I was looking for any news about the injury and scanned through them to see if Witrado replied to one... and I saw that garbage. That blog would be much better if they didn't even allow comments.

Cappy was starting to grow on me
The only lights-out Brewers pitchers in MLB 2k8 are Gallardo and Capuano (Sheets is far too reliant on the curve, and my inability to always execute it makes him unreliable).  I was thinking that Cappy can't be all bad if he's so good in the game.

Get well, cappy.

Disagree
I can't throw a curveball with Capuano to save my life.  Always ends up a meatball and then in the stands.
