Hardy/Escobar Theory

Why have the Brewers been hyping Escobar so much?

Star-divide

Here's my theory: If the Brewers are going to need to trade for anyone in June/July it's going to probably be a starting pitcher, which will most likely involve losing a decent position player or outfielder.

With Hardy being the closest to Free Agency, and assuming Escobar continues to hit well (though power would be nice). I could see the Brewers trading Hardy for a good starting pitcher this year.

On the other hand, Hardy seems a bit like the "Molitor" of the team (ie. good looking, good playing fan favorite type) so they might just keep him.

I like that theory
But then again, what do I know?  I've been wanting them to trade Hardy ever since he took Bill Hall's job at short.

Speaking of Hall
Did I read correctly that Hall is batting in the 5th spot because he had a good spring. Last I checked, here are Hall's spring numbers:
.254 avg   0 Hr    3 Rbi's

He must have been stroking the ball in the batting cage.

Ned doesn't bother with results
I'm sure Hall had a spring full of good ABs.

However, to be fair....Hart had an awful spring, so it wouldn't be hard to outperform him.

Hart
He's on my fantasy baseball team, so I want him in the 5 spot.

Hardy
He'll probably pop something in his back right before the trade is finished.

hmm
not sure if attractiveness should be a major factor in evaluating trades, but if so, I'm all for it.  I'm generally in favor of anything that will bring more 20-26 year old females into the stands and purchasing adult beverages.

Or
they could be hyping Escobar so they can trade him at the deadline.
