Gallardo Update
I haven't used the FanPost editor yet, so excuse me if this looks weird when I'm done. The Nashville Sounds open their regular season on Thursday in New Orleans. Perhaps more interesting, however, is the projected starter for the Sounds' second game on Friday evening.
The Nashville Sounds official website has a story up about Gallardo being on an Opening Day roster, after all. The important bit follows:
It will be the first of at least two Minor League rehabilitation starts for Gallardo, who is also penciled in to start a game when the Sounds travel to Oklahoma City from April 7-10. If the team deems it necessary, Gallardo also could start in Nashville during an April 11-14 series against the Iowa Cubs.
"We scheduled three [starts] but told him we would talk after two," Brewers assistant general manager Gord Ash said.
Under the three-start plan, Gallardo would rejoin the Brewers' rotation on April 19, or thereabouts, in Cincinnati.
Hopefully his first two starts go well and we see him in Milwaukee before the 19th, but I wouldn't be disappointed if the team decides not to rush his return.
Now for something completely different: did you know the Sounds have a player named Melqui on their roster? I can see the "Got Milk?" posters already...
