I would have guessed that Riske's would be higher.
And it's becoming obvious that if you put Torres in with an LI under 2, he'll just walk enough guys until it gets there and then go to work.
Still like him though. I think it's nostalgia generated by actually seeing a reliever not designated as "long relief" going more than one inning.

important related stat - volume of sweat
Mota looked like he needed to lay down after his adventure in the big apple.

Shouse
It's weird to think that he's coming in during the toughest situations.

funny thing about LOOGY's
for as great as gagne was over his career (of which i can't help but speak in the past tense) shouse still has better numbers (provided he pitches only against lefties).
shouse
career vs. LHB: 619 PA, 34 BB, 136 K .216/.273/.329
gagne
career vs. All: 2482 PA, 205 BB, 686 K, .216/.290/.360
also, shouse gets a lot of ground balls, lots of double plays so he's a good guy to bring in with someone on first (which is usually also a higher leverage situation). so, i agree with you, it's weird to think that shouse is as important as the closer, but at the same time, when you look at just what he has done versus lefties over his career, he's an elite relief pitcher. :)

wow, that's fascinating
it also amazes me how much trust managers put in their LOOGYs. Shouse appears to deserve it, but think how many times you've seen JC Romero or somebody come in in a 1- or 2-run game with runners on against Fielder or Delgado or somebody like that.
Also, cheese.

also amazing
to think that shouse is that good, but he is the ultimate scrap-heap waiver-pickup type guy.
i mean, all those years in the minors, plus japan? the guy is 39, and he hasn't hit free agency yet.
Also, cheese.

Some of those numbers look a little scary.
I guess I'd just like to see Turnbow's Li reduced a little bit. It doesn't need to go down much, maybe like .30. :)
I swear to God I think I could hit a Matt Wise changeup......

gmLI? Really?
This is really who you want in your bullpen?

I can't say for sure he'd be on my short list, though he'd definitely be on my short list.

I like him
With the tools in his hands he will probably cut down alot of batters!! Also, as with all dwarves of his time, he has incredible stamina which makes him great for long relief! Sign him before the Yankees come calling!

He could hit any batter Ned tells him to
After all, no one tosses a dwarf.

Two words
Dwarf Grit
If the model suffers a critical hit, he may roll a D6. On a roll of 4+ he will only suffer normal wound instead of any special damage caused by a critical hit.

How that's grit!
If Kendall and a Dwarf mated, I wonder how gritty their offspring would be!

One would assume
that the grittiness of his teammates would be dwarfed in comparison.

With that in mind
I wonder if we could get him on the roster before the tonight’s series starts. Maybe we could get Jason “Crash” Kendall to go out to the mound and tell Gmli “LaLoosh” to hit LaRussa in the dugout instead of the Mascot!

That's pretty accurate
but, as they say, to thy own elf be true. :)
