Brewers Lineup

Ned decides to bench Braun in favor of Dillon starting and batting third.

Kapler is also playing instead of Gross.

I don't know what else to say other than this is a strange lineup.

Thoughts anyone?  Filler Filler Filler Filler

Could we be in for our first Yosted of the season

Unless Braun is injured and that could be the Brewers are so secretive about injuries who knows but if he is not why sit him after a day off against a huge divisional rival.

It only the 13 game the kid cannot need a rest already

Its all about the Bullpen this season that is the key.

well

I would argue, that this could be the third. Keeping Bulldog and then putting him #3 in Chicago was stupid. I guess sink or swim, but here we are and he’s been dragged up from the bottom of the pool again.

As mentioned above

It could be a nagging injury, or it could be like Yost benching JJ for a game when he was in his slump earlier this season. He probably should have reordered the line up though.

My guess is that Kapler’s numbers aren’t very good tonight without Braun/Fielder behind him

What the hell?

Is this a split squad game? Or does Ned figure with Bush going it’s gonna be a loss anyway so he might as well throw Dillon in there too? And why not slide Hart, Kendall or even Hardy into the #3 spot for a night if you’re resting Braun?

If I were in the Cards dugout I would have chuckled a little bit after seeing that lineup card.

It's just a day off...

according to Tom H.’s blog. Yost said he wants Braun to take an extra day to “calm down.”

Ya think Melvin ever looks at the lineup on nights like these

and says, “Are you F&$*! me?!?”

Nedly

it seems like when he gives someone a day off he keeps the sub in the same spot the normal starter would have batted. I guess he thinks the other starters don’t deal well with change. The sad thing is, this isn’t a terrible lineup with how hot Kapler and Kendall have been.

Good time for Prince's first homer

Order

It comes down to order, and I was angry at the beginning of the season when Kapler was playing after Gywnn had a few hot games, so I can’t be mad that Kapler is in there, and he has played up to batting #2…

But if Dillon strikes fear into any Cardinal hitters I would be shocked… I would say with the way Bill Hall is hitting the deep ball, but him in the 3 spot and move Dillon further down… no problem with calming Braun down, just don’t put a guy with 1 career HR and 11 career RBI in the 3 hole.

Jeff Suppan is due to be activated from the DL on Tuesday. What should the Brewers do with the rotation?
  • Insert Suppan and demote Dave Bush to the bullpen.
  • Insert Suppan and demote Son of Clung to the bullpen.
  • Insert Suppan and use Bush and McClung in a home/road platoon.
  • Kick Suppan to the pen and keep Bush and McClung in the rotation.
  • Trade J.J. Hardy for A.J. Burnett and leave the other three guys alone in a room with a sharp stick and the knowledge that there's only one open spot on the team.

Robinade - only 12% juice, but 100% Robin.

I saw it in Pick and Save today, located in the milk cooler area with the other single serve tasty drinks (I apologize for the crappy resolution on my phone's camera... I've dropped it one too many times). I think it was like $1.29, so it's pretty fairly priced and a healthier alternative to the tasty sugar-filled sodas we all know and love.

It's pretty much regular lemonade, but it's definitely good - much better than Minute Maid. My sister says it tastes like Robin's sweat is in it...

How she knows what his sweat tastes like is beyond me...
