Hurricane Gone with the Wind
Mitch Stetter comes up, Hernan Hurricane Iribarren goes down. Courtesy of the JS Blogs:
Seeking to give heavily-worked left-hander Brian Shouse some help in the bullpen, the Brewers recalled lefty Mitch Stetter from Class AAA Nashville after their game with St. Louis today.
To make room for Stetter on the roster, the Brewers returned infielder/outfielder Hernan Iribarren to Nashville. Before departing, Iribarren helped ignite the tying three-run rally in the eighth with an RBI double.
Also, Gwynn is rehabbing in Nashville, though, as Tom H. ominously notes, there's no guarantee he'll be activated when his 15-day stint on the DL expires on Saturday.
YoGa comes off the DL on Sunday, so we'll find out then how the rotation and bullpen shake out.

I guess it makes sense to have another lefty
I mean, Shouse did throw 1 pitch today. Get the ice bag ready.

It was a sooper-dooper pitch, though.

In Shouse's defense
He did pitch in each game this series.

Might be nice to have two lefties
The Reds have a bunch of lefthanders in their lineup, so it can’t hurt to have two lefthanded options in the bullpen.

It could hurt us as fans
I don’t know if I can make the time for three four-hour games.
Also, cheese.

Parra
I guess Parra won’t be going to the pen when Yovanni comes back. I heard some talk about putting him there to limit innings, I don’t see that happening with two lefties there.

on one of the radio shows
I’ve heard Melvin and maybe someone else say that they look at Villy and Parra as starters. I’d guess Parra heads to AAA, but my record for predictions of roster moves is bad.

Well, there's the 13th pitcher.
Kudos to Yost for surviving more than two weeks without him…

So
Here is the big question, Who will be the first pitcher to pinch hit because all of the regulars have already played?
This should be a poll question. My vote is for Sheets, just to further Ned’s idiocy.

Sheets has an RBI, so Yost would be playing the hot hand.

I remember, a few years ago
Yost saying how nice it would be to have two lefties in the pen. It took long enough, but I guess he got his wish.

umm...
near the end of today’s game, I was actually kinda thinking we were short position-wise, with us having only banged-up Kapler and Kendall on the bench in the end. And this was only a 10-inning game! Maybe I’m just in love with Shouse, but still, not the move I would’ve made.

If only the team had a way
to limit Shouse’s innings and appearances. You know, like not having him face righties.

Iribarren
I totally regret having bought that Iribarren jersey yesterday. Maybe they’ll let me exchange it for a Stetter one.
