Quite a night in the minors
Cameron’s HR, Brewer reaches double digits in errors, and the future of the Crew (Gamel and LaPorta) go off.
Good time for Prince's fourth homer

It is nice to LaPorta raking
since it seemed like last week he was flirting with the Mendoza line. It looks like Gamel is on an express trip to the outfield soon, if we wanted 5 errors in 20 games we could have left Braun at third.

Brewer's error total
now matches that of the entire major league club combined.
And boy do I miss RA Dickey in the Nashville rotation…Nic Ungs has now lasted a whopping 14 IP in four starts.
On another note…anybody have an idea what the club’s plans for Brad Nelson might be? I was stunned to see that he’s still just 25 years old, but regardless of that he doesn’t really seem to fit anywhere on the big league team for the forseeable future…it’s not like we particularly need a lefthanded offense-first 1B. I suppose there’s also his moonlighting as a corner outfielder, but we just got rid of one just like him (with probably more defensive value). Maybe his hot start into the season could get us something shiny in trade?

if your idea of something shiny is...
max st. pierre, then yes, I think so.
Unfortunately, 25 y/o lefty corner guys are the one thing just about every team has enough of. I see a DFA in his future within about 12 months, maybe sooner if injuries strike and there’s a roster crunch on the big club.
Also, cheese.

They already dumped him off the 40-man once before
I forget when exactly (but it was while he was slumping badly), but I guess that means he made it through waivers without problem then. If I’m reading it correctly, he would have become a minor league FA if the Brewers hadn’t put him back on the 40-man last October, so who knows, maybe they’re still looking at him as a useful spare part.
In any case, thanks for your reply! :) I suppose I was shooting for slightly more than a Marxist Empire, but yeah, I guess Brad Nelson is the very definition of replacement level even when he’s hot.

LaPorta
Not only did LaPorta have a big game, he did it against some of their best pitchers. This is from Rotoworld:
Brewers prospect Matt LaPorta went 3-for-4 with two homers and four RBI for Double-A Huntsville on Thursday.
LaPorta’s first homer came off top prospect James McDonald and the second was against Yhency Brazoban, who had been lights out for Jacksonville. LaPorta is batting .301/.391/.630 with six homers and 22 RBI in 21 games.
How long until LaPorta gets bumped to AAA?
"My plan is my plan," Yost said.

LaPorta
will be in the big show right after we trade away another Gabe and we need more outfielders.
