Good debut for Butler
For those of you not in the game thread last night, Huntsville was facing Clayton Kershaw, a lefty with ridiculous stuff that will up in LA before the year is over. I said I took it as a moral victory that LaPorta merely succeeded in not striking out against him, and I meant it.
Also, Brevard County faced Jeff Allison, a former first-round pick who’s pitched only 100 innings since being drafted in 2003 because of various substance abuse and, um, car thievery problems.
He's extremely quick and good.

and hey
if HR/F is normally 11-12% (and laporta’s is almost certainly higher—yes, I should know, but I’m lazy getting the MILB database up and running this year) his 3 fly outs against Kershaw are one third of a home run!
It ain’t much, but it’s better than car thievery.
Also, cheese.

Huntsville must be a fun team to watch
A lot of talent there right now. I wonder if Alcides gets along with Mat Gamel.
