So will it be a warm welcome?
So a day of rest and then the Reds come to town bringing with them Francisco Cordero. It will be interesting to see if the Brew Crew fans receive him with some class. Obviously the best scenario would be three straight trips to the wood shed for the Reds and never give Cordero a reason to even get up in the Bullpen. If he does take the mound it would be poetic to see Prince wake from his slumber with a long bomb off Cordero to win a game. It appears he has had one SVO and converted it with 2 SO's. I would be just fine with him leaving with the exact same stats!!!!

He'll probably be bad
As we all know too well, he's terrible on the road.

Cordero
Of course he'll be booed, that's just how Miller Park crowds are to former players that come back. I'll be sad if it happens to Jenkins.

I don't see it happening to jenkins
that was a pretty mutual breakup, so to speak...
and yeah, cordero will be booed

Me too, regarding Jenks.
Actually, I'll be annoyed if Cordero gets booed as well.

I agree with that,
but if Jenkins gets booed, I might lose my temper a little.

I'm not opposed to boing Cordero
It was a bit of a slap in the face for him to ditch Milwaukee for a minor salary boost when we already had a huge offer out to him (though I'm certainly not complaining, no way is he worth what he got paid).
On the other hand, if Jenkins ever got booed I would shed a tear.

Ideally
Supposedly (according to the book The Cheater's Guide to Baseball) grounds crews tend to know how former pitchers like and don't like the mound, and when they return to the stadium, grounds crews would tweak it to make it as uncomfortable as possible for the player. It's probably harder with a closer, but I'd either like to see Cordero get lit up like he was in Texas, or not used because the Brewers are up to much.
Unfortunately, the one game of the series I'm going to is Soup's.

I dunno
I think Cueto/Suppan would be a great game to watch.

Soup
It's just that every game I go to seems to be either Suppan or Bush (though I did get to see Gallardo hit a home run against the Pirates last year).
In the game's I've been at, Suppan has been pretty consistent, giving up 3-4 runs each time.

I'll be at that game as well.
If Cordero makes an appearance I think it is almost guaranteed he gets booed. Partially due to the circumstances regarding his leaving and partially due to the fact that he would be coming into the end of a close game where the Crew would be behind, resulting in an increase in frustration and "hatred" for the closer Cordero.
Sad to say, but if the situation presents itself I think I might find myself inclined to boo based solely on the situation present in the current game.

Hopefully they don't have save opportunities!
Probably will though. Cueto in game 1 probably doesn't have a lot of runs scored. Game 2 will probably be a beeeeg number with Fogg/Bush dueling - so to speak - and game 3 has Haarang. His awesomeness was somewhat subdued in his first start. Maybe he's a slow starter or maybe all those long starts from last year.
With all that, I don't get why Cordero didn't provide Melvin the opportunity to match the offer he got from the Reds. Could be a variety of things and one of them is that he didn't like the situation here in Milwaukee. Maybe that subject will come out.
Personally, I'm not big on booing... ok, Bonds, but I wouldn't boo Coco.

Booing bonds
That sounds like some promotion a bad team should offer fans as a "fundraising" measure. "Buy Booing Bonds...support your team!"
Once the team is good again, you can turn them in for field-level tickets.

Actually....
Booing Bonds sounds like the name of the reality show on his comeback that he's no doubt pitched to ESPN.
They passed, no doubt, because cutting that deal would mean they only get to show Red Sox and Yankee highlights for 23 horus per day.

coco/jenkins
i hated it when carlos lee was booed by fans. he was a stud for us and you can't blame him for taking more money. that said, i kind of hope coco does get booed. I always thought he was a bit overrated in the first place and ditching us for $1 mil more over four years with no chance to match was a bit of an insult (not that I wanted him for that much money, but some did). As for jenkins, i paln on driving up from chicago in the middle of the week just to see his return - i'll be cheering. Ned, please pitch a righty that day.

I think I've said this here before...
I was at Carlos Lee's first game back at Miller Park, and he got a nice cheer when the lineups were announced before the game. He was then good-naturedly (at least in my section) booed during his AB's. I don't have a problem with that.
