Tom H.: Rickie to Nashville, Joe Dillon recalled

Per the JS Online :

The Brewers replaced Weeks on their roster with infielder/outfielder Joe Dillon, who was batting .317 at Nashville with team highs of 20 home runs and 73 RBI. Dillon, who will be 32 on Thursday, is a 10-year professional who has played only 27 games in the major leagues.

Maybe with Cameron back, maybe the thinking is that Cam can lead off while Rickie gets his swing figured out.  That would make sense: Cameron comes a lot closer to passing for a leadoff hitter than anyone else we have (other than maybe Corey Hart).

Another explanation

It could also be that this article is from last August. :D

I think the new SB format lends authenticity

Plus, Dillon’s actually in AAA!

Hmmmm...

I wouldn’t format the ol’ resume quite yet.

Wow

20 home runs and 73 RBI. Dillion must have really gone a hot streak since being sent down.

"He's been very, very impressive," Yost said. "I mean really impressive. I mean really, really impressive."

AAA pitching means nothing

when you’re gritty.

Actually, I think Dillon is doing rather poorly in AAA, which is a shame, because I like having him on the team.

Guess you

weren’t thirsty enough thismorning and didn’t read today’s Frosty Mug. Otherwise you would understand the difference between information from a fan blog versus that from a truly reliable source staffed by REAL journalists. ;)

Everyone hates Rickie Weeks

Here’s a pretty basic list of primary MLB second basemen. When you say things like “Rickie Weeks sucks, DFA him” remind yourself that there isn’t much to choose from. I wouldn’t find ten on this list that I’d rather have than Rickie…

Chase Utley
Brandon Phillips
Akinori Iwamura
Brian Roberts
Robinson Cano
Ian Kinsler
Howie Kendrick
Rickie Weeks
Dan Uggla
Kelly Johnson
Placido Polanco
Dustin Pedroia
Jeff Kent
Aaron Hill
Orlando Hudson
Freddy Sanchez
Kazuo Matsui
Felipe Lopez
Mark Ellis
Luis Castillo
Asdrubal Cabrera
Tadahito Iguchi
Brendan Harris
Mark DeRosa
Jose Lopez
Erick Aybar
Eugenio Velez

Whenever prince is at first, he should charge the mound and yell "MEAT!"
