Really a helluva game for Huntsville
Keep in mind that the starter for Montgomery was Jacob McGee, who is quite good.
Check out the Southern League batting leaderboard; its cup overfloweth with HUN.
He's extremely quick and good.
WWI re-enactors everywhere
Are mobilizing to take on that leaderboard.
Obscure baseball records and more at my blog, Recondite Baseball.
Looking at the Southern League batting stats
Michael Brantley intrigues me. Although it kind of looks like he might be similar to the Tony Gwynn Jr. offensive mold with a lack of power.
"He's been very, very impressive," Yost said. "I mean really impressive. I mean really, really impressive."

Brantley has much, much better plate discpline than Gwynn, and is a better overall hitter
Gwynn probably has the edge defensively, though.
He's extremely quick and good.
The Stars tied a Southern League record with 13 XBH
There’s a nice writeup about it on MiLB.com, including a cool audio montage of all the extra-base hits.
He's extremely quick and good.
Apparently Gamel's second HR was a 420-foot bomb off the batting eye in CF
He's extremely quick and good.
Eric Munson...
...feeling the push from Mat Gamel, nudged his own BA up to .130. Gamel, consider yourself BLOCKED!
"I will agree that the attitude [at BCB] is ridiculous and they have done so much to instigate animosity and then block us from responding. Real mature!"
No way
Gamel now has as many homeruns as errors. I think that is the line it takes to be promoted in the Brewers organization. We can call it the Braun Line.
