Manager Tony La Russa plans to rest first baseman Albert Pujols tonight, potentially giving Pujols his first day off this season. He didn't start an earlier game but appeared as a pinch-hitter.
"It's what I've been thinking all along. It's a good way to do it," said La Russa, who in spring training forecast two or three days off a month for the former MVP.
A midgame appearance would imperil Pujols' season-long run of reaching base in 39 consecutive games.

This is excellent news
Adam Wainwright vs. Dave Bush is not a very appealing matchup, but removing Poo Holes from the Cards’ lineup decreased the over/under on St. Louis home runs from three to two.
He's extremely quick and good.

Maybe Prince Fielder will get hit by a pitch
And Ned will get mad that there’s no suitable player to hit in return.
