Uecker Suave (in SI!)
From the top of the Brewers article in this week's SI (check the dude on the right!):

This photo has to be getting Ann E. Ladd excited.
Seriously, though, I kind of liked this story, even if the grumpy JS blog says there's nothing to see. Three select snippets, beyond the Uecker pic:
1. Gagne makes blunders off the field, too: When the Brewers landed in Fort Lauderdale at 10:30 p.m., two buses and a stretch limousine were waiting for them. The limo was for Gagné. What timing. He had just blown a save -- he was in fact a week away from losing the closer job -- and now he was going to parade down Ocean Drive? Gagné, in fact, had ordered a town car, not a limo. And his trip was not to South Beach but to Vero Beach, a sleepy retirement community two hours north where the Dodgers held spring training.
2. That thing Yost wouldn't talk about w/ Gagne? It's in here. Using laptops, pitching coach Mike Maddux reviewed video with Gagné and worked on the closer's release point.
3. The reason for Prince's slump? His jersey was too tight. When Fielder felt as though his jersey was constricting his swing a few weeks ago, Migliaccio ordered one with wider sleeves.

Cameron
I liked the anecdote about the parrot:
When Cameron, a 14-year veteran who had just returned from his suspension, walked into the clubhouse, he was greeted by a stuffed parrot hanging from his locker with a bandage over one eye, a cigarette dangling from its mouth and a miniature Padres hat on its head…The Padres, who were in Florida right before the Brewers, had left the parrot so Cameron would have someone to keep him company on the rest of the trip. “I don’t think I want it,” Cameron said.
After stashing the parrot in Fielder’s locker…

I liked the article
It is always interesting to see the side of baseball outside of the games themselves. The majority of what we read and hear about is based purely off of in game happenings. I find it refreshing to read about the events outside of the game and it also helps to put everything into perspective.
"He's been very, very impressive," Yost said. "I mean really impressive. I mean really, really impressive."

I liked it too
I loved hearing about the candy bag, American Pie 2 watching and the reading habits of Bush. When baseball is always so much about numbers and statistics, atleast for fans, it is refreshing to hear stories beyong the statistics.
The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws.

As Bush keeps reading The Brothers Karamazov ...
... what are the odds that he gives up during the middle of Book Six rather than finishing the whole thing?
