A double?

I think what happened was he hit it so high that it got into the jet stream, and they had no choice but to call it a ground rule double
He's extremely quick and good.

I wasn't expecting a no hitter
But Jeffres debut looked quite disappointing, I guess I have to temper my expectations for him? Or is he just shaking off the rust?
The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws.

he had a lot of iffy outings last year, too
all the k’s we’d want, but hardly cy young material. given how long it’s been, seems like he gets a pass on stuff like this for a while, especially if he keeps getting the strikeouts.
Also, cheese.

Here's a question (or 2)
With a suspension like that, could the Brewers have sent him to some independent league team or something just to keep him working on his stuff? Maybe send a scout or coach with him to make sure he isn’t overworked or anything. also,I would assume the suspension would mean he is suspended from all MLB affiliated games, but can he still be associated with the team, i.e. travel with the team, work with the coaches, throw bullpen sessions under the watchful eye of the coaches, simulated games, etc.?
"He's been very, very impressive," Yost said. "I mean really impressive. I mean really, really impressive."

indy league, no
since he’s under contract with us. also, indy leagues don’t start till rather late in the year.
and I don’t know how the rules apply to extended spring training, but since we didn’t hear anything, I’m guessing he was banned from that.
I don’t think Cameron was traveling with the team, so I’m guessing Jeffress wouldn’t have been either.
But, the important part: I would be shocked if he didn’t spend that month and a half in AZ, working with the Brewers coaching staff at extended spring, even if he wasn’t pitching in games.
Also, cheese.

Braddock has been disappointing at BC as well
But they only have four outings between them, and both are coming back after a long time off. Their struggles are frustrating, but with any luck they’ll turn it around soon; playing in the most pitcher-friendly park in a pitcher-friendly league should help, at least theoretically. They’re still by far the best the Brewers have in terms of starting pitching in the minors.
He's extremely quick and good.
