It’s sad to see a guy fall to pieces so suddenly. It has that Rick Ankiel feel to it. I’m starting to wonder whether it’s more than just psychological/mechanical with him, whether there is something physically wrong.

Maybe Weaver has a bet on the number of starts Bush, Parra and Villy will combine for this season. Once they hit his number, he'll buckle down and pitch well.

It is the PCL
But Nashville is not a hitter’s park. Far from it. To wit, only 11 of the Sounds’ 39 homers this year have come at home. So don’t blame the PCL—and don’t blame New Orleans, which managed two hits Thursday night.
Last night’s start was vintage Weaver: looks like he’s doing fine for a while, something goes wrong, and the wheels come off. Weaver had one really bad inning but other than that wasn’t too bad.

wouldn’t it be nice to have a power-hitting lefty bench option who can play third (giving Hall some “days off” against righties) and also play adequately as a corner outfielder?

His past MLB performance says he’s nothing more than a lefty version of Hall. Right now he just has a ridiculously high BABIP that’s inflating his average.

A lefty version of Hall
who could possibly do a semi-platoon with the righty version of Hall and provide a power lefthanded bat off the bench. I don’t think he’s gonna win an MVP, but I think he’s a better pinch-hitting option than Gwynn.
