That overused Brewer bullpen
Or not. 12th in the NL in innings pitched, 5 1/3 innings under league average.
Good thing we've got those professional journalists with all that access to sources providing us with the straight story, as opposed to those shiftless bloggers who don't know nothing spouting rumor and supposition.

At least we're getting good value
the third highest ERA and by far the most walks with the 12th highest amount of innings :-/

so...the better indicator
might be batsmen faced (plate appearances, not ABs, seeing as walks should count) or Pitch count, rather than innings pitched. Yes, this might indicate that the bullpen is “being overworked” because the bullpen is working itself, but it’s still a form of overwork perhaps.
And here goes one of my (partly unrelated) tirades again: why the hell aren’t pickoff throws counted and considered somewhere in stats like this? I realize it’s a slightly shorter distance to 1B than home, and pitchers don’t put as much zing on the ball to first or throw curveballs, but still…it should be factored somewhere.

I think the problem is regard to the definition of overused
We don’t have the insider access to the true MLB definition of overused.
The walks are what scares me.

Walks
Turnbow had 13 of them in 6 1/3 innings, so even throwing him out leaves the team in the lead. Taking out Turnbow’s five strikeouts leaves the team tied for fourth there.

The only guy maybe overused
Torres is on pace for ~110 innings this season which is a lot, even for a guy who can go multiple innings regularly. Riske was used a lot, too, until he got hurt.

sooner or later
Ned will realize that Torres has to be the closer. That will bring his innings down.

gagne
he wants the closers job back but everytime I look at his line. His ball-strike count are very close. plus he usually walks two per inning. He can’t be serious when he expects to get the closers role back.

"plus he usually walks two per inning."
The ball-strike count thing you bring up might be true, but Gagne’s actually only walked two batters in the same inning twice this season.

You bloggers don't understand the players
You aren’t in the clubhouse, how can make a statement about the bullpen not being overworked when you aren’t talking with the players everyday… I don’t care what the stats say… sarcasm off
