Rickie Weeks to Eat Meat in Brookfield, Wisconsin
Over the past couple of years, there has been a flurry of restaurant openings near the Brookfield Square Mall, one of Milwaukee's many fine suburban shopping malls. One of them is Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar. (Mrs. Roguejim and I have been there: it's nice, though pricey, and they tend to run out of the Beef Flemington way too early in the evening. I'm not kidding about pricey, though: to atone for a few small screwups with our order, they gave us a $75 gift certificate to come back.)
Anyway, Rickie Weeks will be hosting a charity event, "Dining for a Difference," at Fleming's on June 1st to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
In addition to being treated to a three-course dinner with hors d'oeuvres at one of the area's top steakhouses, those attending the event will have an opportunity to meet and mingle with Weeks and several of his Brewers' teammates and pose for photographs with the Brewers' second baseman.
Attendees will also receive a gift bag and have an opportunity to bid on unique auction items such as a first pitch ceremony at a Brewers home game and autographed memorabilia items. The emcee for the evening will be Brewers television analyst Dave Nelson.
I'm guessing there'll be no meeting and mingling with Prince Fielder at a steakhouse, though there is a fish place about 200 yards away, as well as a Houlihan's attached to the mall itself. I think Houlihan's will have some vegetarian options
It's $150, though.
