Game Thread #50: Brewers (23-26) at Nationals (21-29)

This team is looking more different every day.  Just about every pitcher on the 40-man roster is either on the DL or in the big league bullpen, and we've got Russell the Muscle back on the bench.  What next--the Milwaukee debut of the Crabbe-man?

Game time today is 12:35 CT, and here's the BR Game Preview.  It's Tim Redding vs. Manny Parra, who is down to a 4.40 ERA on the heels of a couple of solid outings.  Redding is actually pitching considerably better--he even blanked the Phillies for 6.1 last time out.

Go Brewers!

Sunday Lineup

Guess even though it’s a holiday weekend we’ll still roll otu the Sunday line up. Hopefully 3TO can go deep on this!

Sick..

According to Brewers Live he’s under the weather. Maybe he went out and partied his 1 year!

by SgtClueLs on May 25, 2008 12:05 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I know I am the only one

pumped about 3TO, but I think Hall is just having a fire lit under him; so unless Branyan crushes it, I think it will be short lived.

by Braunstalker on May 25, 2008 12:27 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Seriously I think he should consider having Lasik done during the ASB

Hall that is. He really seems to have a lot of trouble identifying strikes so far.

How long is the recovery?

I wish he would. I know he can hit.

Elective Surgery

Can you go on the DL due to elective surgery?

I can't remember

if Jeter got time for his sex change or not.

Probably

It’s a perverse way to think about it but Doug Davis did.

Tommy John is an "elective" surgery

Just ask Chris Capuano.

He's extremely quick and good.

Branyan

I wonder what number he’s wearing. Dave Bush has his number from his last Brewers go-round and Gabe Kapler has his other “usual” number.

Yep!

Looks right according to that last replay of the WP.

by SgtClueLs on May 25, 2008 12:56 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

bad luck

not a bad inning for Parra though. 12 strikes, 2 balls. The first ball he threw(that didn’t get swung at) was the wp.

by magoo on May 25, 2008 12:58 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

This at-bat

will either end in a strikeout, walk, or homerun. You can put money on it.

Nationals' injuries

If the Brewers had as many injuries as the Nationals do, would there be grumbling among fans about Yost’s warm-up program for the team?

The Pirates just hit their 3rd homer of the game. They still are down 4-3 though.

I’m sure everyone knows the Tailgate Tips from Jerry Garcia.

by SgtClueLs on May 25, 2008 3:47 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Why not look to the first five innings

where, once again, the Crew can’t move runners on base? Every loss seems to feature this.

PB does not equal a WP. Pitchers get the “credit” for WPs
