Yay Ned for changing the strategy you do that works!

2B Rickie Weeks
CF Mike Cameron
LF Ryan Braun
1B Prince Fielder
RF Corey Hart
3B Russell Branyan
SS J.J. Hardy
C Jason Kendall
RHP Ben Sheets

I take back everything I’ve ever said about Ned having an open mind about statistics and new analysis.

Whenever prince is at first, he should charge the mound and yell "MEAT!"

Bens Bat

Did you not see Bens bat last game? It’s awake and ready to knock in some runners.

My favorite part of this move is his comment that hitting the pitcher 8th was working, but not as well as he'd hoped.

So clearly, a change was necessary. It’s sort of like when you buy a purported 300yd driver, which adds 40yds to your drives, but doesn’t get you all the way to 300yds, and you snap it over your knee in frustration. It makes TOTAL sense.

Sounds like

you hit a golf ball about as far as I do

That would be referred to as “going Zambrano.”

Hardy

And yet he’s quick to jump on JJ for when he says he did better in his spot last year and doesnt like where he’s at now. “Oh well thats something JJ really needs to correct, he should do somethin about blah blah blah”

Whatever...

It Probably will make a difference, I bet Benny will end up leading off a few innings. You never want that to happen.

95 mph for Sheets

but the Nats radar gun has seemed a bit fast this series.

by oconnobe on May 26, 2008 12:42 PM CDT   0 recs

That ball got off the wall in a hurry, though.

More appropriate question – has beverage consumption commenced.

Oh well, game off

no more white house propaganda in baseball please.

Sheets getting hit hard today

I guess it says something when he is, but has only given up two runs and its the sixth.

Jerry Meals, HP ump calls strike for a ball over the opposite batters box

Another ball is called a strike, but Corey ends up singling on a grounder.

by ol Pete on May 26, 2008 2:10 PM CDT   0 recs

maybe not down by 2 runs

hoping for a bigger rally

and its a liner for an rbi

by ol Pete on May 26, 2008 2:20 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

PH

I’d almost consider pinch-hitting the LH Counsell here. Rickie hasn’t looked good today.

by oconnobe on May 26, 2008 2:22 PM CDT   0 recs

sweet

hard to double up, huh?

Shouse!

at least through 2 batters, he’s my hero.

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 2:33 PM CDT   0 recs

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 2:35 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

lets get this man

in the starting rotation:)

jk;)

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 2:35 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

lead off runner - dare I hope? Brauny and Fielder to follow

Cam with a steal on the first pitch as well

by ol Pete on May 26, 2008 2:40 PM CDT   0 recs

Braun’s long fly advances Cam

by ol Pete on May 26, 2008 2:42 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

okay

so that’s why:P

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 2:42 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Cameron

why steal? we both know Braun can’t hit with RISP:P You have a better chance scoring from first on a double than Braun can get a hit with RISP. Steal during Hart’s AB.

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 2:42 PM CDT   0 recs

that'll work

when i saw “in play run(s)” I was hoping it was a homer;)

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 2:44 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Apocalypse warning

Dmitri Young with a triple

by ol Pete on May 26, 2008 2:50 PM CDT   0 recs

yeah...

wtf happened there? they’ve been pulling him for pinch runners all series. So…what’d cameron do wrong?

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 2:51 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

now gameday..

is registering Young with a homer. so…people with TVs, what’s going on?

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 2:53 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Ump discussion

Changed froma triple to a HR

by SgtClueLs on May 26, 2008 2:53 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Terrible call

Ball hit off top of the wall. Umpires met and changed it to a home run. It wasn’t.

by Et tu Brewte on May 26, 2008 2:53 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

To me it looked gone

Looked like it hit the metal area above the wall. Close call though.

by oconnobe on May 26, 2008 2:56 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

How many of these...

Close calls on home runs have their been in the last two weeks? You paying attention, Bud Selig? Maybe if it contributes to a Brewers loss, then you’ll finally change your stance.

by Et tu Brewte on May 26, 2008 2:53 PM CDT   0 recs

true

but what about that one looked like a HR?

by ol Pete on May 26, 2008 2:54 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Wow, wow, wow...

Are you kidding me!

"Get up, get up, get outta' here, GONE!!!"

bill hall

enjoy that bench seat.

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 2:57 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Branyan

will like the short RF wall at Miller Park the next 9 games.

by oconnobe on May 26, 2008 2:59 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Branyan due for a bomb

He hasn’t had one in six major league at-bats this year. Clearly, it’s on its way.

by Et tu Brewte on May 26, 2008 2:56 PM CDT   0 recs

Dillard

looks wild, at least by gameday patterns.

pull before the next inning?

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 2:56 PM CDT   0 recs

kendall

is going out of the yard here. i feel it:P

Brad Nelson

He is playing 3B today in Memphis. When do you think he gets a shot at the hot corner for the big club?

Ichiro, on facing Daisuke Matsuzaka for the first time: "I hope he arouses the fire that's dormant in the innermost recesses of my soul."

Rickie

why the hell did you swing at that second strike?

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 3:15 PM CDT   0 recs

c'mon Braunie

here we go brewers, here we go!

last inning...

for Villy

assuming we can get someone on this next inning.

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 3:21 PM CDT   0 recs

villy only had 12 pitches into the 10th

he’s good for at least two or three more innings

Let’s not forget that CV “failed” as a starter because his manager stubbornly refuses to accept that CV pitches well for the first 70 pitches, THEN like clockwork the bottom falls out. I’m not a numbers guy, but that historical trend should be obvious even to our cretinous manager.

by heybatterbatter on May 26, 2008 3:32 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Agreed.

He is pitching great. Good to see. I think that is going to be his role for a while.

by zsattler on May 26, 2008 3:29 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

If we don't, whos pitching next?

"Get up, get up, get outta' here, GONE!!!"

by BrewerLover on May 26, 2008 3:28 PM CDT   0 recs

if we don't get anyone on base

Villy gets to pitch one more

if we do get someone on, my guess is they’ll burn Torres

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 3:30 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Nice hitting with two strikes and the wide strike zone.

by ol Pete on May 26, 2008 3:32 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Villy bats

in any case, if it’s my choice. Which it ISN’T.

by heybatterbatter on May 26, 2008 3:34 PM CDT   0 recs

Nice Corey

Good at bat there, way to advance the runner!

by zsattler on May 26, 2008 3:34 PM CDT   0 recs

okay

i’ll take the small-ball. quite surprised by it though.

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 3:34 PM CDT   0 recs

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 3:36 PM CDT   0 recs

lol...gutsy

stealing right after a pitchout

by PagsBrewCrew on May 26, 2008 3:37 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

He was out but not by as much as originally appeared. Make up call? They don’t do that right?
