Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Double A affiliation moving?......

does someone have info on this?  There was an article in the local paper (Norwich (CT) Bulletin that mentioned the chance that the Brewers Double A team in Huntsville could end up playing in the Eastern League next year.  The Giants Double A team currently plays in the EL as the Connecticut Defenders but may be leaving after this season. Ok, I haven't hit the 75 word mark quite yet, how about now?

Thanks--Greg

They have been with Huntsville for a while now

I’d be kind of surprised if they changed. I know they like Huntsville and Nashville being so close geographically.

Visit my baseball blog ...or else!

the link.....

can be found over on the Giants SBNation blog under fanposts; there are several threads going that have the link and there is further discussion from the article’s writer in the comment sections in my own blog.

Single A affiliation moving, too?

Last summer, one of the Appleton (WI) newspaper columnists wrote about the idea that the contract with West Virginia was up as of September 2008, as was the contract with the Mariners and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, which play at a very nice stadium in Appleton. He was advocating a “marriage” between the Brewers and the Timber Rattlers. As one who lives just outside of Appleton, I agree that it would be pretty cool. When the Brewers sign a key draft pick, Brewer fans would only have to go 1 1/2 hours north to see him. When Sheets goes on another minor league rehab stint, it could be only 90 miles from Milwaukee. The columnist talked about how much of a win-win it would be for Brewers fans, including those from the northern part of the state. I’d agree.

But he also talked about how they can’t talk about these things while they still have a contract—tampering and such. So any news would be rumors.
