Does Chris Woodward also being signed to play at AAA suggest some discomfort with the current middle infield situation or do they just need to restock after Branyan got promoted?

There’s no way that Woodward or Garciaparra were signed because of concerns with Counsell and/or Weeks. The Brewers have three guys at AAA or above (Dillon, Iribarren, Crabbe) who can handle 2B in Weeks’ stead, and Escobar would in all likelihood be called up to play short if Hardy were injured or traded.
He's extremely quick and good.
