Jeffress imploded in the fifth

Until that point, he’d only allowed a double and a walk, resulting in one run. Overall, I have to think this is still an encouraging outing for him, though it should be noted this is the second time he’s completely fallen apart after cruising for a few innings.

Also, Evan Anundsen’s second straight really great start should not be overlooked.

He's extremely quick and good.

Jeffress

Anyone have any more insight onto Jeffress’ outing? The 10 K’s out of 13 outs was impressive….and only one walk. And if that double and walk were out of the way early as battlekow indicated by the fifth inning, that leaves basically three hits he surrendered in the fifth? Is that right? If that’s the case where did the quick hook come from? Three hits in an inning happens to everyone. And how did he get 6 earned runs charged to him? Did he plunk a few?
The numbers just aren’t adding up. Someone please fill in the blanks!!

Recap

Check out the recap here. Note the 4th and first part of the 5th for Lakeland. He did plunk 2 batters in the 5th and left the bags full.

The Wallbangers won because they played the game like kids! Let's do that again!!!

Featured Poll

Poll
Who is the Brewers' top prospect?
  • Brett Lawrie - Cana-DUH!
  • Mat Gamel - A great pure hitter who could potentially play a position of need.
  • Alcides Escobar - The Brewers sorely need his defensive wizardry and contact-hitting approach. He also solves the 3B hole by shifting J.J. over.
  • Jonathan Lucroy - The best catching prospect in the system by virtue of the fact that he can actually catch. His hitting numbers at Brevard are very good on the face of it, but even better after accounting for Space Coast Stadium.
  • Angel Salome - He's leading a Huntsville team that's loaded with prospects in all three slash stats, and he has the tools to be a good defensive catcher.
  • Jeremy Jeffress - The only real pitching prospect in a sea of hitters, Jeffress could potentially ease the pain of losing two aces by blossoming into one himself.
  • Carlos George - Hey, Derek Jeter can't play defense either.
