Game Thread #66: Brewers (34-31) at Astros (33-33)

For those of us who like to win series, there are two phrases that go together quite nicely: "rubber game" and "Ben Sheets."  I would imagine "Brian Moehler" does not evoke quite the same confidence in an Astros fan, though Moehler has been solid in the rotation this year, including seven shutout innings against the Cards last weekend.

Not-so-fun matchup fact: Sheets has faced Berkman an astonishing 69 times, and the Fat Puma has managed an 1.105 OPS against him.  Actually, this whole lineup looks like they're going to have a leisurely afternoon teeing off on Sheets.  One outing isn't going to adjust the numbers too far downward, but I trust that Ben will give it a try.

Game time is 1:05 CT, and here's the BR Game Preview.

Go Brewers!

What is that measuring? It can’t be home runs for the year. It can’t be home run distance.

That would make sense as a possibility. I was thinking total runs for the year and that the photo wasn’t taken this year, but that doesn’t seem right.

question

what’s with hall playing 2B and not SS? isn’t he “naturally” a SS? Whereas Counsell has been doing the infield position shifting for the last several years of his career?

by PagsBrewCrew on Jun 12, 2008 2:09 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Good point

I never really thought of that now with JJ out it makes sense for Billy to play Short. Maybe we’re just trying to piss his agent off more

It's his best position, right?

I’m not being sarcastic here at all (Yes, I know I rag on Counsell enough, but his defense has always, always been his best attribute)

Didn’t someone do a study that said that Counsell was the best defensive shortstop of the decade?
