Big Ben
I hoped everybody took a good look at our Ace today and realized what kind of ball player Ben Sheets really is. His curve ball looked great, his fast ball couldn't be hit, and his confidence made him seem untouchable. I admit, I was a skeptic last year, but when Ben Sheets is healthy, he is among the best in league. Maybe what Ben needed was catcher that could call a game. When Ben was interviewed after the game he mentioned his apprehension to allowing catchers to the call game, and it was until around the fourth inning that he finally surrendered to Kendall's zen like decisions behind home plate. I think this is the relationship that Ben needs in order for him to reach his true potential. A pitcher and a catcher are almost like a husband and wife, when it's good it's good, and when it's bad it's bad.

And when it's really bad
It’s really, really bad.
He's extremely quick and good.

who was the brewers catcher in 2004?
what i mean is, i think it has more to do with ben sheets staying healthy for once. dave bush is worse than ever this year. does jason kendall not like dave bush or something? does dave bush’s ‘negative energy’ disrupt kendall’s ‘zen’?

Ben's Past
I completely agree that staying healthy for Ben is probably the biggest factor involving his successful start to this season. My point I want to get across does not involve Dave Bush, it involves a pitcher catcher relationship regarding two highly skilled players that are feeding on each others talent. The words came right out of Ben Sheets’ mouth. Also, one can’t argue the simple fact that Kendall is one of the better game calling catchers in league.

Let's Hope
Sheets will want to stick around next year because Kendall will be here, seeing as it’s almost a forgone conclusion he will meet his extension plateau barring significant injury.

Kendall
I have this theory that the current positive stretch is a combination of two things, Kendall calling a good game after getting a good feel for the strengths of the starting pitchers and the bats starting to come alive.
