Did anyone see the game?

The MiLB Gameday makes it look like the strikezone was way wide yesterday, with lots of called strikes off the plate by half its width both inside and outside. Was the pitch entry guy just drunk or did that really happen?

AAA umpires

Probably don’t get paid enough to put up with Turnbow and Gagne on back-to-back nights.

Manager Frank Kremblas liked what he saw from Gagne.

“He looked better than he did in the spring to me,’’ Kremblas said. “His curveball looked really good. He threw a good (splitter) on the last strikeout of (Joe Mather). His fastball command was pretty good.”

He's extremely quick and good.

Can Angel Salome play 1st base

From what I have read Angel’s catching defense is about as good and Chad Moeller’s offense. IF Prince goes away in a trade, can Angel play 1st base?

Angel is way way to short to play first.

I mean way to short if I hadn’t made myself clear yet.

Listed at 5'7", 190

four inches shorter than Prince, who is also very short for a first basemen.

Prince

He may not get the long stretch on the throws, but once you account for length*width, he makes a pretty big target at first.

That is more what I was looking for from Jeffress.

Got his ERA under 5 finally. Sky is the limit with him.

Sky is the limit

That was his problem last year wasn’t it – getting too high?

by Saberilliterate on Jun 25, 2008 10:58 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Jeffress threw in the mid- to high-90s throughout the game, dialing it up to 99 mph on more than one occasion.
