Quick rundown of the minors
Steven Hammond got roughed up- 8ER in four innings.
Braddock, on 3 days rest, only threw 1 inning- 3 walks, 1 hit, four runs.
RJ Siedel had a nice outing, 6.1 and 1 ER.
Evan Frederickson has walked 3, struck out 2 in 2 innings- hopefully that ends there. Helena having weird injury issues. Cutter Dykstra and Logan Schafer both have groin injuries? Ummm…
And finally, Arizona had 8 errors and a passed ball today in what was presumably a baseball game.

Well, I was there and I’m pretty ridiculous.
Highlights from the non-game action: Saw a few unusual player shirts in our section-one Kapler, a Suppan, a Villanueva, and in the next section over someone was wearing a Turnbow jersey. Dude, that’s a sunk cost. (says the person thinking about getting a Counsell shirt-do they have those?)

C’mon man, they have Gagne shirts, for God’s sake!!!! But yeah, my GF got a Counsell shirt, along with a Villanueva shirt, and she actually gets baseball. Don’t ask me, but she does get baseball for the most part. Heck, i kinda want a Counsell/Kapler shirt!!!

In the game thread, I commented that 4th-round LHP Josh Romanski was being used as a DH at Helena. Well, it turns out that might be a good idea: he’s 3-3 with a double and 2 runs scored.

Livan really was throwing BP
Check this out: he ranks 11th in all of baseball in the percentage of fastballs thrown at 71.3%, but unlike everyone else near the top of the list, his fastball doesn’t approach or exceed 90 mph—it doesn’t even come close, actually, clocking in at 83.9 mph on average. How does he get away with it?

Hernandez's breaking balls
Looking at his charts, it looks like he has two different breaking balls, wouldn’t you say, dixie? Fangraphs has him throwing a slider and curve, FWIW.

Yeah the algorithm is clearly missing his curve
I could easily hand edit it but there will be another update today so I don’t really want to be hand editing stuff while games keep piling up. Maybe at the ASB. It is interesting comparing my charts to fangraphs. Sometimes they match up quite well, sometimes it appears that fangraphs is way off and sometimes my algorithm is way off. Lucky for me my algorithm is only going to get better and fangraphs is stuck with what they have. Check out Shawn Marcum for a guy who fangraphs is just off base on.
