Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

Jason Kendall's right arm ends dreams

Not only is Ol' Sandpaper Face leading the majors in CS and CS% while already exceeding last year's CS total (20), he's also managed to "steal" two players' significant SB cherries.

As this article details, Jacoby Ellsbury recently approached Tim Raines' record of 27 SB to begin a career without being caught. Ellsbury had reached 25 by May 18, when Kendall terminated him, and his record attempt, with extreme prejudice.

Enter Stephen Drew. Not nearly the speed freak Ellsbury is, Drew nevertheless had a little streak of his own going; as TheJay noted on his blog, Drew went 9-9 last year, which, combined with his 2-2 effort in 2006 and two more SB this year, gave him 13 straight to open his career going into yesterday, when Kendall crushed Drew's streak under his iron boot heel of grit.

Conclusion: Juck Fohnny Estrada.

Man crush

Apparently the boys over at the rookie league BCB at Miller Park South have a Man Crush on our Mr. Kendall. Check out this post.

The Wallbangers won because they played the game like kids! Let's do that again!!!

rookie league BCB?

First it was one poster. Second, Cubs fans came up with Wrigleyville North, your originality is impressing no one.

hammer!?

Hey everybody, it’s hammer. have you come up with any new innovative ways to assemble a baseball team? If you do, keep us informed.

Also, It’s “wrigley field north.” Wrigleyville north is a large hole-in-the-wall bar on sheridan. You’re not by any chance an iowa native, are you? Also, the phrase Miller Park South came first (1949), trust me, it’s documented.

Good luck, enjoy your season, quite a team you guys have to watch this year. All it took was the motivation of selling the franchise for them to put a little money and effort back into that club.
